Dracaena fragrans “Massangeana,” commonly known as corn plant, can add a tropical feel to a home or garden. With yellow stripes down the center of its glossy green foliage, this shrub or small tree is commonly grown as an indoor plant. Corn plant is a member of the Agavaceae family and can grow 5 to 15 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Corn plant grows best in a bright spot, but tolerates low-light situations well. In areas with less light, it will grow more slowly and may show less lime-green coloration. The dracaena fragrans was a plant used in the NASA’s clean air study which proved to remove a considerable amount of toxins from the environment.
